Response to "nuclear terrorism"
Iran's president says Tehran has responded to what he called nuclear terrorism at Natanz nuclear facility by installing more modern centrifuges and enriching uranium to higher purity levels. Rouhani said Tehran replaced IR1 centrifuges with IR6 ones as the first response to the Israeli regime’s move against Iran. The president added Iran will not allow others to disrupt its peaceful nuclear program and will counter any plots in that regard. He reiterated that Iran will return to full compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal once the US respects UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and removes all sanctions and Iran verifies their removal. The president underlined that Iran’s activities have always been, and will remain peaceful and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Deadly Saudi attack
Saudi Arabia has launched a fresh attack on Yemen, killing at least two children and wounding four others.
Warning Washington
Russia once again warns the United States against any new "unfriendly steps", saying it would act decisively against such a move. Russian media said the warning was issued by President Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy adviser. Yuri Ushakov also invited the US ambassador to Moscow for talks following Tuesday’s phone call between Putin and his US counterpart, Joe Biden. This follows reports that the White House is preparing new restrictions against the Kremlin. Russia says it must be ready for the worst-case scenario in terms of US sanctions and has threatened to respond to any new restrictions in kind. Tensions have increased between the two sides over a number of issues, including the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the jailing of Kremlin critic, Alexey Navalny.
